Out and Back

Lil M and I went on a little vacation this week to N. Orleans. We had a very nice trip. We left Wed evening and got back today. We got to have some nice dinner on Thurs of catfish and shrimp and then we went to get Begnets (french donuts with lots of sugar) and coffee. It was very nice. We also got to see the Immigrants statue and I had Lil M sit on it and take a picture with Nonni.

Other than that, we just hung out and relaxed. Watched lots of boats go by on the great Mississippi and sat on the porch in rocking chairs a lot. It was gorgeous down there.

The only bad thing that happened was that Lil M got sick today in the car on the way to the airport. She's better now, but that sucked. I was told she is definitely a Mommy's girl (uh yeah), and that she is very secure with me (she was able to go to the potty in the house without me and with the door closed... even in the new environment. same with going to bed the last two nights. she would go to sleep without me, knowing i'd be up later). So, that was very nice to hear!! :) She does have difficulty not talking when others are talking, though, 'cause she is used to having all of mommy's attention most of the time (except when we're with T, but that seems to be different). So, we worked on that some more.

Peace.

Part of my comment repeated. It's done that in the past on other blogs. DON'T ASK ME WHY:0) Sorry for the mess.

Glad to hear you had a good time in New Orleans. I would love to go there as well to checkout their architecture and yummy cuisine. I'd like to visit around this same time of year, since fish and shrimp go very well with Lent menu.

"I was told she is definitely a Mommy's girl..."

No big surprises there. She naturally gravitates to safety and where she will feel loved. And there's no better place for her than right next to you, of course. I'm sorry to hear that she got sick on the way to the airport. Any ideas what caused it? Is she OK now? You mentioned she was feeling better, so I guess that's a good sign.

BTW, did you get an offer via email or your blog to visit some place called Arumba? I got an email from "His Lordship Tom, Master and Patriarch of Arumbian Armed Forces and Other Stuff" to visit his home land as some kind of servant. Can you believe that? Travel to a foreign land to become somebody's backscratcher. Can you say SPAM? It's unbelievable the tactics some recreant will stoop to to gip people out of something. The email also mentioned that His Majesty required his staff to read some kind of silly book called Armando: the Leprechaun Racketeer. Well I've got news for his majesty, that sounds like a really stupid book, and If I find it boring, there's no way I can pay attention. Everything I read simply will not sink in. I mean it's not like I've been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disor- say, did you know I can identify the taste of chocolate in my mouth even if I'm blindfolded? Is that cool or what!

Anyhoo, I hope your leg's feeling better. Take care:0)

No worries. :)

Yes, we had a great time! And, why, yes... fish and lent, good combo in NOLA. :)

I think Lil M might have gotten a little car sick... or, she bumped her head (she had a little knot, but we didn't see her bump it)... or she ate something bad. Since she only got sick once and it was in the car, it might have been car sickness. Though, that was definitely a first. Ugh. :( Poor little schnookums.

I did get some SPAM somewhere... LOL it was hysterical and I wish i had a good, witty comeback tonight. I'll think on it. :)

I forgot to mention how cute Cutie-Patootie looks in these pics! That hat is almost as big as she is:0) LOL.

Looks like the waiter in the third pic has never seen someone take a picture before:0)

Great pics! Everybody seemed to have had a good time.
